There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home.
Site news: The Pictures section is done. I'm not finished adding pictures though, so check back for more. Also, the webcams are up and running. You'll find a link in the contact section.
This is the latest reincarnation of hem.mjuk.net. I've been wanting to work this out since I replaced hem.mjuk.net2 with |3.01, which can still be viewed (links are at bottom of page).
Alot has happened in my life since I last had any info on my site. I moved from Gothenburg to Los Angeles, California. Then I moved back. Then I once more moved to LA, where I'm currently residing. I quit my job at Volvo IT and did nothing for a long while. Then I started a new career in education, and got my Commercial Pilot's License on August 20th, 2003. I followed up with getting my Multi Engine rating on August 23rd. The world basically being void of good jobs for pilots who are low on experience, i opted to pursue a flight instruction certificate.
This site is slowly taking shape. I've added all but the diary section. All sections will soon be updated with more information.
The WebCams are currently offline for some changes, as I'm going wireless. Expect to have everything worked out this week.

Flying is the second greatest thrill known to man. Landing is the first.
I started out flying gliders with GSFK in 1998. I worked at it for a couple of seasons and managed to gain a thorough understanding of aircraft, aviation aerodynamics and aviation meteorology.
Most importantly though, I learned the skills of what is commonly called Stick and Rudder. Put in laymans terms, flying the plane.
I never really considered a career in aviation until I was invited for a test ride in one of the full motion B737 simulators at SAS Flight Academy in Stockholm. I realized there the amazing work environment which is a modern jet aircraft. It took a while longer, but I finally ended up in primary flight training at Channel Islands Aviation in Camarillo, California. For all you aviation people out there, that's KCMA.
Within a year, I had (in FAA terms) been found to be properly qualified to exercise the privileges of a commercial pilot. I had also aquired an instrument rating as well as a multi engine rating. So what does that get me? Not a whole lot nowadays. Being legally allowed to work as a pilot doesn't get you jobs like it used to... I'm currently looking for extra work as a glider tow or banner tow pilot.
Most of my time is in Cessna 172 variants, mainly the 172R Skyhawk and 172RG Cutlass. I have Complex Aircraft, High Performance Aircraft and Tailwheel Aircraft Endorsements, and lately alot of my time has been in Bellanca Citabrias and Super Decathlons. All of my 20 hours of multi engine time have been in a Beechcraft BE76 Duchess.

With amazement and disappointment, we discovered in late October and early November that the beaten Russians seemed quite unaware that as a military force they had almost ceased to exist.
For the past few years, I have engaged actively in living history, also known as reenactment. I belong to a part of the nordic "Militärhistoriska Sällskapet" (The Society of Military History) which portrays a reconnosaince platoon out of the German 11th SS Division "Nordland". We are of course completely unpolitical, seeking to objectively portray the lives of soldiers involved in the last two years of what became the Second World War.
I am a PFC (Obergrenadier), and hold the position of machinegunner (MG-Schütze) in my squad. I am responsible for taking care of and firing (but most of all transporting) my squad's MG42, which is the main squad weapon. It is a heavy task, as the MG42 isn't very enjoyable to lug about on one's shoulder. I am also responsible for ensuring that the MG support team functions cohesively. Usually this just means one person carrying ammo, but it can also extend to someone carrying a heavy tripod, known as a Lafette.
There are several pictures in the > pictures section.

For so bare is my heart, I can't hide.
I'll put my diary back up here as soon as I finish the functionality. Expect it to look much like the old one...
